Depends...are you stopping people from rolling Vah Shir/Beastlord until you finish Velious content as well? Or are you letting that slide. So did they not patch EQmac to disallow PC users from being able to log in? I thought they were suppose to fix that "exploit" at the end of March.

I tend to agree with Daldaen - just because Alla put it in in 2002 doesn't mean it wasn't in the game at Velious, just that it took people a while to figure out a huge obnoxious quest. I mean how many people had ALL of their tradeskills maxed to go do this? See quotes like this about the BCPS:



And if you look at the stats, they really aren't better than the 10th ring. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if the 'modification' of the quest is when they added the focus effect, which they also did for stuff like the Shining Metallic Robe: http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=2098 which is clearly classic.

BCPS has it's own focus effect.
The mobs spawned during the 8th shawl quest drop items that have required levels on them.

Both of which are obviously not Velious.

Some of his drops on Allakhazam are not, no. Most people know that a 46/42 2hs with a graphic not added until PoP(?) didn't launch with kunark.

The quest dialogue for the 7th shawl is a pretty unambiguous lead in to the 8th shawl.

Not that the burden of proof is on me, but the evidence against the shawl being in with Velious is pretty damning.

You have 6 or so items from the quest having a required level.
You have the item having its own focus effect (although, they might have upgraded the shawl in a patch)

The kicker is that the 8th shawl npc who doesn't need to be spawned was not seen until 2002 in a frequented zone in Iceclad. Even if you argue that no one decided to turn in their 7th shawl and either Velious introduced the required level mechanic or that those items were added retroactively, you still have General Bragmar MIA.
