A lot of the migrants that try to get to EU on shitty barely seaworthy boats drown in the process. Drowning is a shit way to die. To play devil’s advocate, Biden supposedly did say “Don’t come” in a recent press conference due to issues with overpopulation at asylum and children’s shelters. It’s just that the majority of his far left political squad like AOC certainly don’t agree with or echo that sentiment, and his policies certainly don’t reflect it. Saying “don’t come” is rather worthless. Those coyotes are lying and telling the poor parents in El Salvador that there’s all this free money and a great life for their kids because the coyotes want their money. The only thing that will stop the industry of human trafficking is great border security preventing it

Also, people often misunderstand human trafficking as like some Philippino girl brought in chains to America for sex work. Yes that’s a form of human trafficking but that’s not what occurs in Honduras, El Salvador, etc. Their version is a bit more benign

It starts with a parent desperate to give their kid a better life. They take their life savings to a Coyote, which is essentially a gang member, to hire them to smuggle their kid into America. The coyote fills their heads with tales about how great America will be for their kid and how their kid will have all this money and healthcare and job opportunities, whether or not it’s true doesn’t matter. These coyotes are not good people, they want to get paid, and will say whatever they need to to get the desperate parent to fork over their lifetime savings from working at as a street vendor to smuggle their kid to America

Along the way, no one is there to see what occurs but the Coyote and the kid. And there’s no Better Business Bureau to make sure these smugglers are treating their product decently. It is a completely different kind of human trafficking than my first example, but still categorically the same
