Take a moment and look back on your EQ characters from live servers (if you had any).

Do those characters mean anything to you now? I'm betting the answer is no. I played EQ live, I spent literally thousands of hours building my characters, and they mean shit to me now. Your green characters will eventually mean absolutely shit to you as well. I'm not saying you shouldn't play...but set limits for yourself. You don't have to be server first or BiS...just remember, your elf pixels will mean nothing. Don't neglect your wife, but don't put your hobbies on the back-burner either, find a happy medium. Eventually she will come around and learn to accept your hobby...if it's done in moderation.
