Quit after PoP. GoD/OOW/whatever made me sad. PoP was the pinnacle of EQ, even with the books.

Agreed with Kaev on Nexus Spires. People ask for ports from OT to South Ro all the time so they can take the Oasis boat to TD, because the Oasis boat comes 3 times as often as the OT boat.

PoK books, if they are one way out of PoK, and the only way to get to PoK is a port... Then you have to get a port in order to click a book...

Not a fan of PoP, but if a server did this and also disabled binding in PoK --AND-- placed same bind restrictions on casters as on melees it might be ok.

Why the hate on Fire Pot 2.0 [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]? People love talking about how they need the interdependence among classes and PoK killed that... Yet all these people carry charges WC caps, OT Hammer MQs, Invis Rings, Larrikans Masks. They love the convenience those items provide characters who can't port or invis themselves. Heaven forbid the game design allows a little more convenience for unguilded players and those who are on in off hours.

I wouldn't really care if you limited PoK to out only and no binding as a Druid. All my toons 60+ would end up being bound in PoTranq and just live there $$$.

Struggled to get through the Gates of Discord, and then Omens of War finally did it for me. I just could not connect the lore to the EQ I once knew. When EQ2 launched 2 months after OoW I was gone.

OOW added Taskmasters which offered quests, but the quest writing itself was horrible, like some intern wrote them.

As a melee, I enjoy the aspects of needing Larrikan's, charged caps, etc. I don't want everyone to have everything. That ruins MMORPG's. Giving people some conveniences I'm ok with.

Anyway, I would LOOOooOOoOVE a PoP server with no boxing and a population like P99. I'd be there in a heart beat.

I bought EQ because Asheron's call wasnt out yet after I tried the free beta ending. Ended up buying both and constantly switching between the two.

I quit shortly after SoL because of my horrible crapbox first computer ever setup. I Was so excited to meet the ram requirements after I upgraded, but forgot to include the ram i was losing with the removal of the first stick.

Worked all summer for that stick of ram. I was ragey, but continued for a few weeks, making a human monk, figured Iksar was more leet, did a bag drop transfer then had internet go out for two days straight. Lost my amazing gear set, figured I was totally done but had a small nest egg.

let a friend of mine play at my house for a weekend, got him setup and left to go to some school function, the first thing he did was /petition and try to cyber the first GM that responded.

Never looked back after the ban, I was done and did Asheron's Call full time after that, then FFXI, and some WoW, but always had nostalgia about EQ. Very happy with P99 as I am at the level gear value wise / level I was at when I played so many years ago.
