But, regardless of belief, having good knowledge of the Bible is a good thing to have. It helps knowing all the evils that it truly holds and is a good tool to argue with "believers" who know little to nothing about their own holy book.
"Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones"
Psalm 137, Verse 9

Flash forward to the new testament (the part where that guy Jesus came into the picture) and you'll see things like:

Quote:
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.

But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me. — Luke 19:27

Mark 11:12-14 and 20-22 "The next day as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. Seeing in the distance a fig-tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs. Then he said to the tree, 'May no-one ever eat fruit from you again.' And his disciples heard him say it. . . . In the morning as they went along, they saw the fig-tree withered from the roots. Peter remembered and said to Jesus. 'Rabbi, look! The fig-tree you cursed has withered!' Have faith in God,' Jesus answered."

Nice guy that Jesus. That taught the fig tree not to mess with JESUS!

I knew this Mormon who would ride around on a bike collecting cans for the lavish ten-cent deposit here in Michigan. He didn't give the church its standard 10% cut on his can revenue and is probably going to hell for that reason.
