There are those who would say the same of cleric, and yet tanks go down without heals all the time on these rushed dragons. In fact, I wrote a vp guide I feel I should share with IB today for clerics. It's simple but useful kinda stuff.

Skill takes different forms in different games. In CS or any shooter games it's the fast reaction time and reflexes, in WoW or any modern mmo it's standing out of the fire and using the proper counter in pvp.

IMO, skill in EQ is anticipation instead of reaction. EQ has long cast times and no instants, so if you're already at the point of reacting to something it's often already too late. You can't headshot mid-air while doing a 360. It's more like chess, you have to prepare for any eventuality and plan a few moves in advance.

Sadly, not a lot of people have that ability to concentrate on the game 100%. They watch netflix or youtube, browse the forums, read something, because hey it's EQ, it's slow, it doesn't take skill. Auto-attack your way to victory am i right? Then the mob is incoming and the puller has to kite around for 20 seconds like a headless chicken but it's fine, kiting doesn't take skill it's just running around in a circle.

It's surprising, really when you think about it. Apparently EQ is slow and old and everything has been done already, so it takes zero skill. Then why is it so hard to find people who can at least play their class with a reasonable amount of efficiency?

When people speak of skill, they aren't talking about the killing of the mob. Obviously all dragons here are pretty simple, but when you have to rush a trak engage with 18-20 people to ensure fte, while kiting prot and the other juggs, thats where a little bit of skill and co-ordination come in.

I'm sure organizing a tic tac toe tournament takes a little bit skill and coordination as well. It doesn't make tic tac toe a difficult, skill intensive game.

I was camped in that room, Mayong's throne room, and logged in to aggro from your slew of mobs. My character riposted, swung back, and proc'd the AOE from the Earthshaker without me even pressing the attack button. Someone said you can't get aggro if you don't attack other peoples mobs.... yeah, thats a load of bull, sit down near an engaged mob and watch what happens. thats what happened to me. Unfortunate but i don't really care.
