![]() I'm on my third level 50 but I still tend to tip 10pp because I grind exp more than I grind plat. I always ask when I tip "is 10pp ok?". Sometimes when I need 2-3 ports for a quest I can't afford 60-100pp to get ported around.
If you don't think my tip is ok then tell me. One wizard was really rude about it like I was trying to jip him. Even level 50s are broke sometimes.

An okay tip is like one common drop. Maybe you should stop grinding exp and start grinding plat.

![]() I am what i would consider mid lvl 31 and i tip between 10 and 20p for a port it always seemed resonable to me. I am no super trading plat monger and have rarly had more than 100-200p at any one time i figured 10% of my total liquid worth was not too bad. Never had anyone complain and when I ask someone to come pick me up and take me somewhere else i always try to pay more. Again I have never had anyone complain.

![]() heh yeah I remember in classic, I was so broke, as a monk you just don't loot. I really adhered strictly to the weight limit then...and when you're trying to stay at 14 or less, how does one loot? or make plat? So at 50, I still didn't have but a few hundred plat. Then you're pulling raids, and that doesn't make you plat.... I feel ya. I am a little better off this time, but got about 1k at 35. But if it is true the fbss and other good stuff are farmed, and I won't be able to get a group down there and legit camp one, I need pp.
Or I could just... that is a different topic altogether[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

![]() there are plenty of free ports and rezzes on this server. actually, there are a lot more here than i remember there being on live during classic.
yes, if you must have the port NOW expect to be charged an arm and a leg. If you are happy to hang out for 30 minutes working fishing or sense heading, you will find a free port before too long. same for rezzes. it also goes a long way to send tells to people rather than shout. it also helps to walk up to them and hail before sending a tell, this way they know you aren't going to make them wait forever to find you. personally, at low levels running around is part of the game imo. you really don't need to travel "far" until you get to around 30, by which time scrounging 10pp for a port rlly becomes trivial. i think part of the anxiety people have now is that "travel" and "hang-out" time are no longer considered part of the game by many players. It might be the WoW-spoiler thing, it might just a different age in gaming, who knows. Back in the day though, hanging out for 40 minutes to put a grp together and 20 minutes running and 10 minutes waiting for the boat was considered "playing." Hardly anybody got into pissy fits because they couldn't find a port for their lvl 15 character.

![]() I usually tip 20/50p depends how scrub the druid is honestly. More scrub = more tip.
10p for sow which I base off the cost of sow potions.

![]() the policy on my main was that a donation was required. it didn't matter to me what the donation was, just something. if a newbie could give me 1 cp I was happier than when a max level thought he was above donating.
the bottom line is that, unless we are friends, guildmates, friends of friends, etc., then my time should be worth something. if nothing the donation is just a formal way of saying thank you in my opinion...the amount is irrelevant. What was funny is that people would get mad at me when i would politely say before porting (usually after a several second wait of uncomfortable silence after we met up) "donation?" I guess I can see why some folks would be offended, but a TL component costs something like 2pp (this was later on)...do you really expect me to pay for your TL? Maybe folks didn't understand that there was a component involved... of course, if someone was on a CR I would always port them for free. Its an easy way to make a friend and you never know when you will need someone's help (its oddly quite frequent how often you bump into someone who can help you that you have done a favor for in the past...).

![]() I pay about 20 plat for a port on average, but if I were a druid/wizard, I'd be okay with 10 plat if the guy was low-leveled. Just saying.
