I port for free, so therefore I win the game... I think. If I have no interest in porting, I simply don't port your ass. If I feel nice enough to port, I don't care about a donation. 1cp - 100p, whatever. I just hit accept when the trade menu comes up [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

This.

If I'm busy or semi busy, I'm not gonna be porting people at all, unless they say like "OMG 100pp FOR PORT TO XXXXXX" then sometimes I will, sometimes I wont. If I'm not busy, I don't care, put something in trade and I'll take it. I've learned not to turn down people's offerings. I'm trying to be nice and they make me feel like a dick for not taking their last 7pp. "Please.... take it, it's all I have to offer you as thanks for your awesome help."

It's like, wtf, why you gotta make me feel like that. So now I just click trade no matter how much they throw in there and say thanks.

I'm somewhat new to this server, Classic is rough for new players, the times I needed a port I paid out almost all of the platinum I had on my character (between 7 - 15pp) for a port. I paid this much because I thought it would be acceptable as if anyone had an issue they'd know I spent EVERYTHING I had for their help...

If you're gunna get pissy, then put a firm price on your ports.

If you want to get X pp for a port you should charge that much. If you "port for donation" well 1I am sorry to tell you that 0pp is a donation.

I agree with th sentiment of high lvls tipping that low, but to play devil's advocate... if you expect it, or demand it, it isn't a donation, or a tip. It's a fee. And while I understand that people use their skills to make plat, necros summon corpses, or locate them... clerics res and buff, druids sow or port, etc etc...and I don't fault someone for it...

Melees can't charge for their abilities. And the next time you're on a raid and you rely on that mt, or that offtank, or the puller....and their gear isn't up to par because they had to spend x amount of plat on sows, or ports....

Once again, playing devil's advocate here. I don't fault people for charging for ports, or asking a small fee for their time.

I usually tip 50-100pp per port, am I ruining the economy?

no, tip depends on tipper. some afford more, some not so much. To each his own.

Getting pissy and making a big deal of the amount is probably why you're not getting squat. If someone pays me <15, I cancel the trade, because they need it more than I do. Aside from that, I consistently get 100-200. But then again, I'm nice.
