He'll be quite resisty, think he's 35ish. Never tried him as a necro... might want a 40ish friend there just to make sure.

Pull him into the corridor to the zone, snare/fear, and the rest should be clockwork - he's definitely a caster so best done that way [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

People will argue with this as well, and by all means [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Chances are by L12 or so, if you're grouped, you won't be standing up to swing your weapon. A lot of new clerics (particularly in CB) seem to want to keep on top of their 1h blunt skill rather than meditate. Can't knock new clerics for trying to play the way they want to play but the best clerics are the ones that are always sat unless they're casting spells [You must be logged in to view images. I think my 1h blunt is about 50-60, and I've never had a shock moment where I thought it should be nearer to 200...keep pushing your wisdom towards 200 [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I am not too sure having a ton of wis and mana are really a great goal on here anymore. My Druid has so much mana it is scary. And ok I can quad well with that much solo but in a group as a healer or a DPS with DD and Dots I think it is a false security. All that really happens is ok you can heal or DPS longer but guess what with human nature the way it is you just want to get back to full mana to feel secure as a healer. So you tell the group you are oom or low on mana and every sits or waits for 8 minutes till you are full mana.

The trouble with that is people say ok and go pee or REALLY walk their dog or get a beer etc. and it breaks the flow of pulling. I am not saying don't have a reasonable amount but only having to wait 4 minutes versus 7 minutes seems to keep the group going more non stop. And it has been my experience that at times when a group has a big pause someone makes a decision that they need to leave. A RL instance.

The trouble with my above statement is it is more directed at being the healer as a Druid. A Cleric once they get CH is a LOT better at healing plain and simple. And yeah Shaman gets Canni. But all healer classes run oom even with Crack.

I guess the whole gist of this is I don't care how much mana items or wis you have you are still going to be oom at some point in time. Don't lose a lot of sleep about not being a total twink as a healer. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

It's the same with every class. For leveling up get 5/55 rings and a decent ratio wep first.

this man telling it like it is.

I would also add that the caster itemization for classic eq is horribly bad. If stuff made your buffs last longer or your nukes more efficient or your dots tick for more damage or your spells cast faster, it would actually matter. But for grouping an additional 25% mana won't make that much of a difference. So don't worry about it and level up to 46, then join a guild and get planes gear and your (extremely easy) epic that everyone wants to help with for a chance at a CoF. Epic+Full purple+Supple Scale Armband+Full Sky+black sapphire jewelry+5AC/55HP rings+cheap stuff in other slots will give you a cleric that's 95% as good as a BiS one like Elethia for 20k spent.

A deeper mana pool on a cleric can mean a group's survival over a wipe when shit is looking shaky, its an extra CH and then some if we're going by the 25% thing.

If your cleric is a dark elf (not sure about other races), look at the purple armor and then look at the cultural armor... there's no comparison there, cultural will set you free [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Haters hatin' :P

Within that I did some some duo work as well as a bunch of groups in Unrest/MM/Sol B and KC on the way up to 56.

Enough soloing to write a guide that anyone who wants to exclusively solo can do so, but that doesn't mean I have some anti-group mentality [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

KC is a prime example of needing a deep mana pool if you've got a below average puller or repops and no CC'er. Pro clerics stun any adds and move them away from the group and root them ghetto style if the DPS means that the first mob in the bunch isn't going to drop for 20-30 secs. Mana saved because you or the backup healer hasn't got to patch heal so much. Say what you like, a deep mana pool gives you more options/versatility.
