ya i keep reading that they break down more often then work. o well i like other suvs too, grand cherokee, xterra, fx35 and rh400h come to mind

Maybe try looking into a Scion tC. They are made by Toyota and look pretty sporty looking.
It shouldn't be too hard to find one for around 15k.
You can probably get one from around 2008 or 09 for around that price I think, maybe newer.
