What skill is there to being a caster currently? Spamming roots on melees who can't channel and nuking them down as you sit lev'ed up on the z-axis where you can't be touched quickly refreshing two clickies and laughing at any pumice the melee may try to throw at you? Ya ok pal.

If a caster approaches a melee with a position advantage outdoors they should have the upper hand. If they are spamming root you should have a chance to dispel since root doesn't interrupt. Currently melee still have the huge advantage in dungeons.

If you make it the way it was on live your gear will be much more beneficial to you. Big deal if you can't root someone if they made the changes? Root isn't the big deal with resists. Anyone in your group can dispel a root from you if you can't channel yourself.

If the changes are made their casters can't even put a dent into your hp. I still don't see how a good team here can suffer if one side is spamming roots when it only takes a simple dispel to take the root off your team member. Are these just made up scenarios or do people actually suck enough to do this? If an entire side is spamming root why isn't the other side spamming DD with one guy on dispel watch.

They'd still be killable. With good resists, pure numbers matters less.

And you certainly won't get root/snare spammed and zerged down (favors numbers).

If you want a chance @ beating us here, fixing resists is step one to doing so as it neutralizes the zerg spam root and focus strat that works so well here. Imagine a group or two of solid players where root was a non factor and classic resists, assisting properly / pelling together, etc. Scary thought. Not gonna happen here with resist system.

It just makes harassing raids easier for bard groups.

PvP requires more individual skill and coordination.

People not quitting over losing 15% xp 55+ from pvp also is a pretty good idea.
