Sounds like option had agro and was going to position mob for engage, and tmo went ahead and engaged preventing Fe from positioning trak into a favorable position to engage, thus interfering with options pull. Fe had fte its tmo responsibility to not engage until wipe or reset, not Fe responsibility to engage early before positioned.

Which brings me back to my question: how in the hell are people having difficulties snagging/killing raid mobs in 2+ year old content?

This isn't level 100 bleeding edge raiding. The raids and formulas needed to win on this server are, and have been well known for quite sometime.
