To remove half of the current playerbase.

The half that is pre level 35 casters?

I'll keep making classic changes when I can, regardless if people threaten to quit. I'm here to recreate classic eq; not to make people happy.

Possibly.... Since we can't change monitor resolutions, the spell book being smaller than the resolution is the issue. If the remainder of the screen was black, with the spellbook laying on top, before lvl 35, it would serve the same purpose.
Is this correct though? In classic, couldn't you still see the chat box when book medding?

I love this place and it evokes many of the things I remember but, I can't view it with an empty bank of knowledge for the game.

Since this is the best classic Emu that I know of, when people show up who never played live I am excited for that person, and jealous of them.

You could be jealous of me. I did play EQ back then but have such a bad memory it's all new.

On my server people used to /auction selling 3 bags of stuff at T2 and they would put the bags in your trade window and you'd go through them and be disappointed 9 times out of 10.

People getting butthurt over you not asking to inspect them first. Remember some of the people would walk backwards intentionally to close you're inspection window, then send you a tell, telling you to ASK first?

This has never happened to me in Project1999.

I never thought it was a big deal in classic, and i don't now. Thats why i laugh
when people ask to inspect me. This isn't classic Everquest, bro.

Then and now I always found it strange when people ask to inspect me. I don't care at all. 'Mire all you want, babes.

With that said I will inspect you hard without shame.

I was so guilty of this in 2000.

The one thing we will never get back from EQLive was the sense of wonder. What the hell kind of sword is that?!?! /t guy hey man can you tell me the stats on that insane looking weapon?

On my server (Tunare) we used GFay and I pretty much lived in the hut next to bank with bags and was always buying low and selling high. For some reason I have no interest in Reselling on here. Maybe now being older I find it a waste of time and don't care about fake money as much. I do miss GFay music while trading though.

For those that never goto Greater Faydark, here is a link to the Kelethin Music.

It was an age of innocence in a sense, not just for online interactions but more generally where gaming was concerned.

Genuinely I was lost in Neriak the first time I played a dark elf to the point where it really took me over an hour to get out of the city. Running from Felwithe to Kelethin seemed like a MASSIVE undertaking, following the path at night, hoping not to see any orc pawns on the way.

You don't get that anymore... not with this game or any other game you play. If I'm doing the mail delivery quest in Gfay now, I just run out of Felwithe and go north-east to the newbie lift and run back without even thinking about the path.

Great times we'll never get back. Before trolling the internet became popular and the WoW kids were still too young to play [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
