I went to see The Hobbit this morning and really enjoyed it. I would give it a 9/10. One point short of a ten since they did add some scenes that were not originally in the book. However, being a Tolkien fan, I did enjoy the the extra lore Peter Jackson added in. I believe the extra's have added even more depth to an already great book and did enjoy hearing of the other wizards and seeing Radagast. (What a great character he is!) The movie's length could also be considered long by some, but again, being a Tolkien fan I was so enthralled the movie to me seemed to short. (Maybe these long hours leveling and camping in EQ have dulled my mind =)
Before going to see the film I didn't read anything about it or even watch the trailers. I wanted to save myself from being to "Hyped" up and then spoiling the movie if my expectations were not exceeded. It worked! Like the LoTR series, I walked away feeling that I had started the beginning of a great adventure once again. If you liked the LoTR series and enjoy Tolkiens magical world, I believe you will enjoy The Hobbit immensely!
