no u, lotr has good parts but shit is so boring and frodo acts like a pussy thru the whole movie. if it werent for samwise gamgee the greatest hobbit ever to live, i probably wouldnt even re-watch them.

the goblins were far too much like orcs and i think they really rushed through that part (i remember it taking forever in the book) but i fucking loved it. saw it in 3d, and even flinched one part when an arrow was shot during the flee-from-the-goblins scene.

Yeah, but they weren't literally ROCK giants in the book. In the book, they are giants (just like any other giants, but noted as being much TALLER) who are running around in the plains (under the mountain they are trying to take shelter inside of) throwing rocks at each other for sport. Peter Jackson took it as they are giants made out of rock.

They are the same thing in Middle Earth.

I am kind of a purist, but the embellishments were not bad to me. A lot of the added stuff was part of the story but in different works. I like how the beginning takes place the morning before the Fellowship opens; nice touch.
