It is important to note that I am not begrudging TMO their raids. They have earned the right to all that loot, and that - in a sense - is fair.

What I was speaking to is the idea that one group gets everything and every other group gets nothing. This can be said to contain injustice. That is subjective, but a strong argument can be made for how it is unfair that one group gets all and every other group gets none, regardless of any other factors.

Sure, if your narrow focus is on the specific situation of "is this decision mutually equitable to the rules and the players in and of itself?" you might find that a given decision is fair, but if you step back into the light of the radically unequal distribution of wealth, it is ironic in the extreme that any TMO member would ever say that a GM decision to award TMO more loot is fair. It's just ridiculous.

And Eccezan is a short dicked wafflecunt for even suggesting it.

It's like .. yeah .. the bank IS right by letter of the contract to foreclose on that 85 year old widow.

Yes, according to the contract that is fair.

But step back into the light of 28 years of on-time payments, and the bank (eccezan) looks like a greedy jackass.

Lots of people come here wanting to do Vox or Naggy and relive those memories, but they don't want to, or don't have the ability to, put in the amount of time your typical TMO player does. I don't think many of them even make it past 40 or so. Those who do make it past 50 quickly find out that if you're not in TMO, you're not going to kill Naggy, Vox, CT, or Inny. They might get some kills in a more casual guild like BDA, but their success in landing targets has varied over time and you still might have to resort to an odd-hours batphone to get those kills.

The cohesive world and lack of instancing is one of the things I love about EQ and I wouldn't want to change it. I'm not even trying to imply TMO doesn't deserve Vox/Naggy or that they're doing anything wrong by farming them.

Here's my opinion: I've raided on p99 and I fucking hated it. When there's poopsocking and batphones, everybody loses. I couldn't stand it for more than a month. I interpret this as being the fundamental downside to the EQ model, it's what we sacrifice to avoid WoW-style instancing and loot pinatas. You can't get the best gear unless you put in lots of time-- it harbors exclusivity, and I think that's been lost, or at least watered down, in modern MMO's... and it's one of the reasons I find them so boring now.

Quit bitching about the status quo. It's fair. TMO are faggots for killing mobs they don't even need. You're a faggot for being too casual/bad to get the mob yourself. I'm a faggot for posting in this thread.

Setting aside your flippant and timely use of colorful and unnecessary language, this is all basically true.

Wow hasbinbad, thats a lot of names you called me, anything else?

I didn't think that someone as active as you was so easy to be trolled. Gonna be up front with you though, your words are but a speck of dust on the surface of the sun to me.

I do find you entertaining though, carry on! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

We succeeded in taking that picture, and, if you look at it, you see a dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever lived, lived out their lives. The aggregate of all our joys and sufferings, thousands of confident religions, ideologies and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilizations, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every hopeful child, every mother and father, every inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every superstar, every supreme leader, every saint and sinner in the history of our species, lived there on a mote of dust, suspended in a sunbeam.

Still sad when I think of that dude. He shouldn't have died when he did. The world is truly worse off.

Ah well, hopefully NdGT doesn't die soon.
