Played release. Quit before their raid expansion.

Great game graphically with tons of content. Too many wide open areas of nothingness, and not much thought put into a lot of things. Diplomacy could have been so good, especially against other people.

Worth a try? For free? I think you can't equip good armor, so not unless you pay for it.

Rogue - didn't play/unsure.
Warrior - didn't play/unsure.

Anything else to share - vgplayers.com doesn't exist anymore. Weak.

I had a blood mage and a druid. Highly recommend blood mage.

Closest to magician.. if you mean pet wise, I think necromancer is one of the only classes to get a pet. Others can charm, but nothing permanent of which I'm aware.

Listening to 6 year old information, so don't listen to me :x

Made a goblin blood mage. It's a decent looking game at least. Naturally there's obnoxious gold buttons that you can't move that demand you give Smedley more money. I am immediately hit with WoW/Rift/WHO/TOR style quests, where I don't even read what the fucker is saying to me and I just follow my magical compass. Mobs are what you would expect, incredibly weak shit designed to be killed by even the most retarded people (though I am in the newb area)

Might make a melee class, or I might wack off and go to bed

Played in pre-beta with the devs and a couple other people, to a little bit after release

Also ran the Silky Venom website[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

It was ok. It could have been a great game. Unfortunately due to project mismanagement as well as some other internal issues they were never able to fully reach their potential

I played Vg for the longest time. My char is a 52 shaman who I quit the minute they released the new leveling to 55. They had one of the best raid zones I ever played. Was called ancient port warehouse. Now that they increased the level and added groupable faction grind quest. It trivalized the best raid content. They also changed it from a 24 man to a 18 man. Therefore now with higher levels and less people. The content is so weak it is a joke to even do anymore. Especially since you can bypass it entirely for gear that is better with 1 groupable crap. Vg has gone done hill ever since then. They ironed out a lot of bugs and performance issues since launch majorly. It is a fun game. Especially the lower levels. End game now though is a complete joke. Had they kept the content of ancient port warehouse up to date and not trivalized it entirely. I would still be playing it. The other raids they have are open world mobs that roam. They can be fun , but with only 6 -8 of them it sure gets boring. End game now like I said is faction grinds and max two to three groupable stuff. It isn't as in depth as Ancient port warehouse. I could go on and rant what ruined my experience with VG , but from levels 1-50 it is awesome! If you give VG a go I highly reccomend taking your time to experience the content at lower levels fully. Min and maxing will ruin this game for you if you decide to power through it fast.

The game wasn't meant to cater to the raiding crowd. When SoE got the rights to the game after Brad jumped ship all they talked about was raids raids raids.

Course it wasn't still isn't. However, they trivialized the only raid content available that was actually incredibly fun.

You don't understand. The product that you played, the things that you enjoyed in that game wasn't the game that was being developed for the 3 years of alpha/beta, what you played was SoE's debacle. Raid content and the players who enjoyed it weren't even a thought in the original vision that was VSoH. The only raiding content that they wanted was to have 2-3 groups get together to slay a dragon, that's it.
