From the VZ 60 Cap Rogue on the safehouse.

http://www.thesafehouse.org/forums/s...ead.php?t=2872

"Recommended Resists by Order of Importance:
1. Magic: 160-180+ (minimum 140) At this level it is exceedingly rare to be snared/rooted but it occasionally happens when tashed/maloed. Most magic DDs will be resisted totally or partially. Normal mezzes should be resisted.
2. Heat: 140-180+ (minimum 120) Many classes use fire, and it hits hard.
3. Disease: 130-160+ (minimum 100) Most useful against Pox of Bertoxxulous. Pox will stick a good bit at 80 and the surrounding range. Insidious Malady is highly difficult to resist and will decrease disease resist by a lot. It takes 2 charges of SHM cure disease potion to cure and is fast casting. PoB takes 2 charges as well.
3. Poison: 120-140+ (minimum 100) Most useful vs. Envenomed Bolt (ebolt) and Bane of Nife. Same success rate as PoB, perhaps a little lower.
3. Cold: 120-140+ (minimum 100) Not used very much. Shaman nukes and bracer mostly, occasionally druid, rarely wizard. "

this guy ran around with 140 minimum but suggests up to 180+, his guide is huge and a good read. I actually linked it when i first started playing but noone commented. anyhow his suggestions seem to fall in line with what is needed here to be safe from CC.
post was made in 2001 but author said he quit at luclin so all of this pertains to kunark - velious era. lets see some evidence to support your claims instead of your "war stories"

another quote in thread from a response, " I found 140 MR and 120ish FR to be plenty against the overwhelming bulk of spells I faced at 60. My other resists simply didn't matter." these guys must have played a different everquest live than the whiners here.

Post from April 2001
"Paladins all come down to MR and snare/blind and disarm. A good paladin will try to root, blind and stun. with 100+ MR, you will resist 90% of them and scare the crap out of them

Only class I truely fear is a shaman. I hear that they can kite AND tank you if slow hits

I respect monks/war only as far as their poison resist gear. IF you have your ripost disc up, use the root+haste poison and stand there and watch them kill themselves on your 100% ripost.

Note: Biggest complaint from melee and most casters when dueling a rogue- "They keep moving around, I can't him 'em"

I'll take that one

another from april 2001,

"If the Rogue has 130 of every resist, Jboots against a weak sow, and 30 dispel items in his pants that he uses like an expert, he'll make short work of the druid. Or a necro."

http://www.thesafehouse.org/forums/s...ead.php?t=7510

I see a ton of posts with 120+ being safe from snare and most roots. I'd say that's about the same here according to OPs test results.

Versus casters you should look at getting some decent resists. Up to you how you want to pursue this. I find that MR is very important versus clerics, druids and mages. But don't sacrifice too many HP's. Infact, one strategy is to get enough MR to resist most roots and snares (150ish) and then just concentrate on pure HP's.

I can keep going. mad?

You can quote people from the wrong era all you want. Those of us who actually played, know what it was really like.

If you sacrificed a few hundred hp and stats for 100mr, you were quite literally immune to most magic based spells. I could waste my time finding old posts that reflect that, but it won't change anything. Rogean will still be playing star wars, and Nilbog will still be waiting on Rogean to do something about red while he finishes Velious.

Also, 100 MR doesn't give you 90% resistance to any magic based spell here. Not even 60%. Something those of us presently logged in know all too well. Get a new hobby, troll somewhere else.

ps. wtb a fix for regen items. This fungi tunic in my bag makes me sad.
