As soon as it became just farming gear I and others peaced out. But there are larger things at hand here and players not involved in that whole song n dance that quit for a plethora of reasons related to the server, and some of the people that handle it. Oh well.

I mean, the GM disbanded us for doing the exact same Nihilum had done for a month, suspended everyone present and banned the officers. What had been an equal footing for PVP up to that point became insurmountable when it was finally undone and nihilum had doubled in size with all max 50's and dragon loot. Was over. No one wanted to play on a server where decisions like that could be made on the spot.

Couple things. Heartbrand is right. Holocaust didn't quit. They were banned for doing what Nihilumn was doing for WEEKS, without punishment. GMs overracted, and that was the straw that broke the camels back for most of those people.
The fact that people exploited to get to 50, then after a week or so, they ban the people who were still doing it, and NOT the people who originally did it. Another reason people quit. (Either ban all, or none) Resists were BROKE, hardcore. And I mean BROKE. We all know this. This made alot of people leave (mostly melee). You add all those up and you just have a giant gouge in the population. One in which, that when people her about Classic EQ PvP Experience... they see all these threads and bitching... and just say "fuck it, I'm not even going to attempt to play now." There was a lot of stuff wrong. But there are still people interested. But they need enticed back. And its NOT with kunark. Its with getting people here, getting people to STAY here. And you do that by alleviating the un-necessarily long treadmill that is EQ. Instead of a 500 Mile race, make it a 300 Mile race. Because the race is only the precursor to the REAL fun of Red99, the PvP. You want people to stay for the fun, not be driven off by the 500 mile borefest. | ||

WTB: XP BOOST WEEKENDS
Lets try having XP boosted weekends and see how things go after awhile. It was always a nice suprise to get those when they were gifted.
It's probably hard for staff to convince themselves to reward the bad child that is this community with the constant bullshiting and flaming, so maybe changing the approach will get more of a response from them. Just a thought. | ||

Yup at this point I think most can agree that a SERIOUS exp bonus is in order, otherwise it's just a shame because it's a solid platform on a solid box, it just drives me all kinds of nuts when you think they supposedly make this server to appease to players, but its the very people that spend time on their project and yell and shout for changes that get st8 snubbed with no answers, and when we do get an answer its.. "well it doesn't fall within our vision" (ie YT)
Who gives a shit, I just realized that as a whole they really don't give a F because I can't see how you can watch the population continue to dwindle and do absolutely nothing about it, or worse tell yourself it was a success. I don't care that it's free really, hell I know it's not possible for legal reasons but I wouldn't mind paying to have a staff that actually actively made changes and configured the server for the masses
