That's a lot of effort to protect the very few mistakes over the confirmed hundreds, if not thousands, of pieces of shit. (Not to mention the very positive effect a public ban list has on a community, hence why FPS communities keep them.)

I find the "we might make a mistake" a very, very, poor reason (if not an excuse) to not keep a public ban list.

they could just roll a new toon or change toon name if shame was too great. hell there are people who have had multiple toons banned for all sorts of shit and just reroll and openly admit its them. former guild still embraces them because pixels > integrity of server. of course im speaking about red which somehow as a slightly cleaner whistle then the infested RMT blue. but still people wanna shit on the server then shit back on them.

Harrison: it's not happening. get over it.
Samwise: We will NOT change people's names so they can escape their reputation. soooo seems kinda unfair.

at any rate name & shame is kinda trashy IMO and i'm glad rogean & nilbog don't have it.

It's not trashy, it's effective. If you glanced at the forum and saw something like THIS you would be much less likely to try anything that might break the rules.

Is it trashy to require a public registry of sex offenders?
going with the sex offender registry might have been to narrow an example.

Most states have public criminal records data bases you can search on the internet.

you can find out some interesting shit on people you work with or friends / family.

Also a good way to figure out who is a piece of shit irl.. so why not in a video game.

From reading their responses though.. the only reason they don't want to publish a list is they would have to admit they might make a mistake every once in a while and wouldn't be able to hold onto the illusion that they are perfect.

Much easier to pretend you are perfect than apologize for the occasional mistake amirite.

If you commit RMT on eve for currency the currency is taken from your account and you go negative on how much you bought. Seems like it would work well here if we did it.

Amelinda..... youre going off the deep end..

Rieker is correct, a list isnt trashy, this bullshit is trashy.

Pedo lists are out there for anyone to read and figure out where they are at. Why? Because they are a fucking cancer upon our RL communities.... Whats the diff here?

Im sure atleast 90% of people who look at a sex offender (atleast with children) Can come flat out and say i wish they were just dead or gone.

We want these motherfuckers gone, we want these motherfuckin names.

Tired of playing here when it feels like im just fucking myself in the ass with a broken 2 x 4
