Sorry your friend got suspended for a week. Just bad timing as the GMs' tolerance levels seem to be met due to recent server drama.

I was suspended for a week for helping my friend loot his Cazic Skin. I support your cause.

I read "thought it was a useful glitch" and stopped reading.

A glitch in a system of any kind that can be EXPLOITED for gain is an EXPLOIT. see what I did there op?
So what you're saying is, the useful exploit was in truth, a ... dangerous glitch.

You were raid suspended, a far inferior punishment than an actual suspension. And you knew the rules and that you would have consequences.

Lot of this going on lately. This guy had almost the same exact issue.

The moral is clear: Stay out of Blackburrow!

You should, because more and more people are quitting, which means less populated zones. EQ is largely a social game, so you do the math.

Additionally, our new friend to EQ had absolutely nothing to do with the
"exploitation" part; he was simply looting what we were killing. It was our fault (Yes, I accept responsibility for what we did) and not his. Why is he banned? Oh, because the GM wouldn't listen. I get it, she's the boss. She can do what she wants. But, with power comes responsibility.

p.s. Don't even come to me with the " it doesn't matter, ignorance doesn't make what you did acceptable." line because it's not even about that; I'm not saying what we did should be acceptable. I'm simply saying the time should fit the crime.
Three things:

1) Fewer people on EQ means more people out, doing social things in the real world. One might argue that without EQ some might find something else, but others would take their translucent asses outside and interact with the general public for once.

2) Someone just robbed a bank and you are standing outside. Before they hop in their getaway cars, they hand you a bag of money. Before the police arrive you start stuffing that cash in your pockets. Now the police arrive, catch you and the robbers, then put you all in cuffs. Please explain to me how this situation is any different (as far as guilt) than the one you describe (regarding your friend "simply looting").

3) The punishment should always exceed the crime. This serves to discourage others who may want to follow suit in the future. The sentence has already been passed, so stop bitching and get on with life. Maybe this will give you and your buddies an opportunity to get together and drink a few beers (hell, even laugh about this). It's only one week and it's only one game - none of this will impact the rest of your life.

1) Mbravo: worst reply ever. I spend my late, late nights on EQ and my days with people.

2) Mbravo: Everquest and and robbing banks in RL hardly equate.

3) Mbravo: if this is true, then you could be in legal trouble for violating Sony's legal terms in regards to services and uses
