They don't want to go after p99 because it would be a waste of resources and there's a small chance of a loophole/etc being found and SOE getting countersued for some bullshit

It's funny, there are WoW EMUs with literally thousand upon thousands of players that "donate" (Read: RMT) for items. Molten-WoW has 8-10 (don't remember since Cataclysm Launch) servers that are all normally capped at 4k players each

Careful what you wish for.
I don't want the server gone, I want the ass holes who could cause this to be gone. It is obvious who these individuals are.

wouldn't be too hard to write a script that monitors X items being traded imo... wutevs.
seems they're against RMT, but don't feel like putting the time in to create the tools needed to stop it.

i still refuse to believe anyone would be rich or dumb enough to pay for emu items.

For a rich person... it would be like tossing a quarter to a kid to get a piece of candy. There are plenty of examples of epic RMT sales in mmo's out there.. a short google search can pop up a few.

Can't click the link from this stupid firewall, what EMU was sued for 88 million? Molten is arguably the biggest emu available and it's running strong as hell with custom programming

I love how in half the threads in the past week you have threatened to run to Sony if you don't get your way xD
you remind me of my little brother when we were 6 heh. But lets look at this from a pure business standpoint. Is the cost of a lawsuit (which they may or may not win) greater than any new customers they would receive from shutting down P99. I would lean toward no. Besides its not like P99 is actively taking customers from SoE... its mostly people tired of Live and looking for something new that find this. Doubt many people here would migrate back to Live. It's not about right or wrong, or the law. It's about what makes the most money for SoE. It's the same reason large companies settle sexual harassment suits or wrongful termination suits even if they have a rock solid win. Bad publicity = Less money in the bank.
