The main reason that the date is not set in stone is because they want everything to work as best as possible before they release it. So basically if things are still unfinished in October then they will not release it until later.

This is a good thing and I for one admire and appreciate the tons of work that these guys are doing.

As for casual gamers, there are A LOT of casual gamers who just want to play Iksar and be in the best newbie zones EQ had ever seen! Field of Bone, Kurns, Lake of Ill Omen, Warsilks Woods, etc.
Raiders and power gamers will always race to be the first at everything and never stop to smell the roses. When I think of my best times in old EQ, My adventures in the Field of Bone and Lake come first
