In general, the brightness of EQ has increased quite a bit throughout the years. Some has to do with client changes, some with graphics changes, and some with the technology we currently use. Current LCD monitors putting out 300+ nits of brightness certainly doesn't help any.
The best thing you can do is to turn the ingame gamma option down. On my CRT display, its turned down to 31% to get it close to "classic" brightness. On my friends LCD display, I have to turn it down to around 15% to get it to look right. It'll never be "pitch black darkness in qeynos hills" dark, but it might be close if you are a human. I may also release my updated graphics files which will help with the night time sky getting closer to the original look. If anyone is interested, let me know. | ||

really sad with all the new technology :P
i in fact would like it if i got FORCED to have it that dark.. but since i cant be, i will have my gamma-slider in the upper half [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
