I watched a bard in Plane of Nightmare solo month or so ago he was using some sort of charm method. Only time i have had super lag was at the Ring event with 50+ people there the other night but it was manageable. 4-5 mob pulls in a grp latency sometimes jumps up to 1k from time to time but i am not kiteing either [You must be logged in to view images. That bard was rocking the planes with that charm method though
Yeah dude, standard swarm kiting uses charm + single target chants. I'd have zero issues doing it that way even with the lag I'm getting because you don't have to get as close to the pack of mobs, but the first bard charm is around level 27 iirc. Level 6-27 is a looong grind with no way to PBAoE kite and seemingly no lowbie groups happening.

Thanks anyways though. The server still excites me, just looks like I'm playing something else to start.

That was probably my bard.

It's because prox aggro actually works there. Can just gather a swarm, charm one mob, let the swarm beat your mob to a pulp, hide/invis to break charm when your pet is at a few %left, snare the former pet (to separate it from pack), charm a new mob, sick that new pet on the old one and get the exp while the swarm beats on your new pet. etc etc etc. Can plow through the entire stalker camp in just minutes.

Likewise, the same strategy can be used to break into and solo Pofear.

As for your pb-aoeing not working? I'm not sure what's wrong. I haven't done that in a long time and I was never a fan of that method, though I've successfully done snow cougars in iceclad, rockhoppers in dawnshroud, and w/e random animals i could grab in stonebrunt (for hides).

Stalkers camp? That's my single favorite solo camp in the game, ever. You can clear that entire camp three times as a bard swarming on a single Vet Exp if you camp between pops to save the buff....10 mins per kite. The social aggro is perfect....best in the game to that point that I know of....eventually it becomes second nature and you can do it in your sleep. Butter.

They say the hobgoblins on the other side of the ditch are just as good but bit higher level.

It's free, and it doesn't have nearly as many issues as this EMU.

Pathing and other shit are much, MUCH better there.

My main issue back in the day was the mouse look is dogshit and I couldn't get it to work better.

This has undoubtedly been asked, but can EQMac be played with a PC?

Yes. And if you look a few posts back I gave a quick recap on how to do it. There is also a few other step by step guides in this thread as well.

I am playing from a PC on Windows atm, no hackintosh OS or anything special. Just an altered EQ Titanium install basically.

Yes however, mind you Al'kabor is a fetid slum of xenophobic sycophants so, it's best if you don't mention that you are not from Stevejobsland...

I got everything working properly, connected to server and getting same Error 1017: Cannot log into the Everquest Server. You may need to re-run the update patch....

Any ideas of a fix for this? Thx
