You should run your own server, apparently you know exactly what is needed for a server to be popular. Unlike the p99 devs who run the most popular blue server and the most popular red server ever hosted on eqemu.
140 people is not "the most popular red server ever" pretty sure the vztz server i never played on had far more than that, and i know that the lucid vision server was sporting 500+ for the brief period of time it was up.

either way captain nuthanger, it isn't a matter of "knowing whats best" it is a matter of actually doing....... anything at all to maintain said server.

...
VZTZ was certainly not more popular than red99. Even when it had 300 or so people it was mostly mutli boxers. I'm sorry but you're just flat out wrong about this.

Anyone complaining about the server being ignored by the staff is an ungrateful moron who is ignorant of eqemu history. In comparison to any other red server that's been up, red99 is by far the most well-coded and well taken care of. Issues that plagued other red servers for their whole existence (pathing, cheat programs, spells file exploits, bard mechanics not functioning at all, various other glaring bugs/exploits/etc.) were fixed on this server from the very beginning because it was based off of blue99 code.

edit: as for raid mobs being exploited, uh, welcome to every red box that's ever existed. Do you really think those 40 pop servers like VZTZ ever killed raid bosses legitimately? I seem to remember a story about a server first VS kill being done by attacking him through a wall to avoid his lifetaps. At least on this server there is some effort to fix the problem and punish exploiters.

I don't recall downing any raid mobs on vz/tz emu illegitimately, because this game is easy. Two-boxing, yes, because it was allowed. Never exploiting though.

That is a false statement by a long shot. Red 99 hasn't held a candle to VZTZ by any respect other than remaining somewhat classic.

Me and some other guy predicted some of what happened.

Holozerg = only way to fight back with xp loss is zerging back = Nihilum

Xp loss on death = people avoiding pvp = people having no content to do 2 months on because of pvp avoidance (go through levels without people engaging you in pvp) = casuals must join zerg or get fucked by gank squads

Now only one prediction remains = most players remaining are the jerk hardcore twinks core who will lulzxploss stomp out any new blood that tries out the server

Sorry to be so negative but this should have been thought out from the start when i did put this input in.

Red99 can hold triple VZTZs pop in the middle of the night and boxing isn't allowed.
