95 is the highest. And hybrids can get up to 9750ish AAs. Pure Melee cap around 6000ish and casters in the 8000s.

You actually have to give EQ Credit for not having bad inflation... when you look at it, 12 years and players still have less than 1k in stats, around 60k hp, weapon damage is around 150'ish iirc? And over time the increases were small.. the later expansions even had set increases for power as percentage based.

And then look at games that came out after EQ.. What's WoW up to for stats, damage, hp? WoW also passed EQ's timeline for obtainable levels rather quickly. Look at SWTOR.. Game just came out.. tanks have almost 20k hp, stats are well into the thousands, weapon damage approaching 1k.

With heroics well placed casters can break 1000 wisdom/int but barely. Melee easily break dex and str just cause of shaman buffs going overcap.

HP/mana values are in the 2600 realm on each piece of gear at the top tier of raids, 2000ish for the top tier of group content.

Weapon DMG... I play a druid on live so I don't pay much attention to it but ya the highest DMG weapon is a knight 2hander at around 315ish unaugmented. 1handers barely are breaking 100s I think.

All I care about is the underfoot shawl. Wtb a version of that in classic $$$. Velious shawls 3 mana regen is cool but I like the mana return proc on UF shawl.

True, but by the same token, gear is much more inconsequential in EQ than in games like WoW. I mean, there are clutch pieces, no doubt - as a melee, your weapons and your haste item are pretty important. The rest helps, but in a raid situation, your buffs are often going to be more important. Again, not to say gear isn't important at all, but it's rarely a game changer.

Compare that to WoW - getting a single piece of gear, even for random slots, can have a noticeable affect on your DPS. As a monk, if I get a ring or a helmet or blah blah blah, my DPS won't noticeably change.

Only single slot pieces that are truely noticeable are weapons and possibly trinkets.

Power leveling is what makes me sad in EQ Live.

Re-subbed this past spring with the intention of playing my bard (see sig), talked to some old mates of mine from my guild back in 2004, and was delighted to learn they could power level me to insane levels very quickly. Until I got to 84 and couldn't hit a level 50 mob. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Must get Titanium, must play P99, I crave the old world EQ experience again.

Nah. I'd much rather shell out 10 bucks to get a used copy of Titanium, roll up on P99, and play a bard the old way. EQ died for me after PoP, insane 45 hour raid schedules, new models, and a new UI. The month my account was active on Live I spent running around on Antonica, Kunark, and Velious reliving the majesty of classic EQ.

And damned if I am not going to find a way to do it again.

I quit at PoTime, close to when you did. It was a total shit-fest.
$10? Torrents = $0 Don't give your money to those asshats, just donate to p99.
