I respect that

But...

Do you ever ask yourself "What's the point?" "Why am I doing this?"
Sometimes I do but really once something pops and everyone is gathered together I have a pretty good time and it seems everyone shares the same fun. I guess I just want to help people relive and experience content that they didn't do/haven't done in a long time, new people pop up all the time so there is somewhat of a freshness in an otherwise pretty repetitive situation.

If you don't enjoy repetition, MMOs are probably not a good game choice. Most games and sports are extremely repetitive. If everything in the game is new to you, you are... a newb. Is it genuinely difficult to understand the pleasure that comes from developing skills and strategies and then executing them well?

There is also, of course, loot. Advancing in this game requires developing your character and once a character has reached maximum level with all the accompanying spells and abilities the only advancement is through equipment. I can think of four items currently in the game that would advance my main character. They all drop from gods and dragons.

I frequently see the argument stated that all gear will be replaced in Kunark. This is a very complex game. Many people think they know a lot about this game when they really know a little bit about this game. People who think all planar gear will be replaced in Kunark are simply wrong. Only time will tell which players will stick around, but some of us are raiding for gear that we will use for many months to come. We're getting ready to tank Phara Dar and heal on the AoW fight. That requires some preparation and, yes, repetition.

I realize that everyone has his own perspective and that it might seem like IB spends all of our time trying to ruin your fun, but we really don't even know who you are. We're just playing EverQuest. There are only two dragons and two gods in this game currently and they spawn once a week. If IB disappeared today, there would still be far fewer gods and dragons than everyone wants to kill. If IB, Divinity, Dark Ascension, Remedy and Transcendence all disappeared today, disputes over these same targets would continue with different characters and guild names.

What skills and strategies? It was all done 10 years ago when the only other option was Pacman: The mmorpg.

Everquest isn't a very complex game, you just need alot of players online. Heal tank, debuff, feed clerics and ZERG.

Yes it was fun playing Everquest again, congratulations you won project 1999. You got the first kills, you got the all the hot loot, but seriously dude man jesus cmon???

SLOW DOWN CHUBBIES, WE'RE NOT IN KUNARK YET

I was trying to be polite, but I'll spell it out for you: you don't know as much as you think you do about this game. We are doing what we do for our own purposes. We are extremely well-informed about what we are doing. If you don't understand something we are doing, it's probably because you are ignorant. Many of the things you think you know from live are false knowledge. This is not live. The functioning code and underlying logic have been recreated. Some things are subtly different. Some things are very different.

It is painfully obvious that you ignored my point about which guild is on top being completely irrelevant to the situation because you have no response. Classic EverQuest has very few raid targets. Not everyone gets to kill them. If you want your guaranteed shot at an instanced raid bosses every week, this is the wrong game for you.

It's hilarious to watch you lie about shit. There are no "secrets" about the content. Charm is broken. Content is trivial. None of this shit is difficult. If you want to kill raid targets in this game you have to no life. This emu doesn't become a game anymore. It becomes some sick obsession where freaks track/camp the same 10 year old 6 raid targets over and over, just so they can summon their other sick freaks via text msg to login real quick/abuse charm/kill mob. /Shrug if you want to do that/ Go for it, but don't expect anyone to be impressed. I kind of view it with some abstract amusement at how seriously mentally ill people can be over this shit.

It's the wrong server for you. Not necessarily the wrong game. There are just a few people here from the basement that take hardcore beyond the limits of being reasonably healthy. Like I said before, if you want to be that freakishly hardcore over an old ass game, by all means go for it, but spare us all the elitism and sense of entitlement. It's pathetic. If I was psychiatrist, tho I do play one on TV, IB would definitely be an interesting case study into how adults on unemployment turn a game into petty high school politics.

You truly believe that if all the people in IB left P99 that suddenly everyone could agree how to divide the four bosses every week? I don't believe that's true at all. Your fascination with charm is bizarre. It's also bizarre that you pretend charm is a tactic exclusive to IB and fundamental to IB's success, neither of which are true.

Are you aware that when I scout bosses, there are usually 2-3 other druids with other guild tags right next to me? IB was just the first guild with a dozen or two good EQ players to hit 50. Now other guilds are in the same situation and there's competition. The only raid drama I'm aware of comes from a very small group of poor losers which includes, not coincidentally, you. Everyone else seems to be doing just fine.
