still cant see a difference between being warned not to intentionally exploit and doing it anyways, and (wasnt present at this raid so idk really) killing a mob that may have unintentionallt bugged out after putting x amount of time into the encounter?

k bro.
I think if you peel the bull shit away and realize time invested is an obfuscation of what's going on here (original SS evidence), along with the little snickery comments in there:

NAGAFEN GOING TO AE IN 12 SECONDS (LUL YA RITE), INC CH HUGHMAN (TROLOLOL LIKE IT MATTERS).

You can see that these kills have never been legit. "Hey let's do Vox next lol". Any attempt to save face at "well it was an accident so we're allowed to keep the loot" is just shockingly stupid to use as a defense... except when the deciding party accepts it.

There's doing it one time as an accident. Great, he'd still be alive after that kill and you'd all be better men for it. But that's not the case, both dragons have been killed several times including again after 100 pages of threads making light of it and exposing the truth.

My question to you, those not involved, is - How is this not backwards and stupid, and shocking that someone would believe it?

->Knowing that a mob will bug out, then fucking with it for 3.5 hours and claiming the loot is yours to keep as legit each time, no suspensions or guild disband.

-> Not only Keeping the loot, but now beliefs are in place that mobs are being killed legitimately.

Let's be hypothetical here for a second-
I'm curious to see the result of our same force, let's call it 18 people, wiping you out in Lavastorm for an hour or two. Then, we start doing pulls and one of you stumbles in noticing we have the dragon in the same locations, pushing it into the wall.

What do I think will happen?

I see you guys running to the GMs again and us getting in an unreversable, absolute, shit ton of trouble. AKA all of us perma/IP banned.

History repeats itself:
->enemy guild exploits dragon, exploit is reported and petitioned along with screen shots. No one suspended, no guild disbanded, presumably loots are now being kept.

-> guild returns from suspension knowing the strat that is currently being witnessed and claimed as legit, wipes out enemy force, repeats strategy... receives punishment? Hmm.

That said, what do we do from here? What is permissible on a kill? I can't imagine "accidentally" getting the dragons to bug out for a .. what, 10th time is going to be OK?

I'm kind of repeating myself from the above here again but...

Apparently pushing it into or otherwise pulling it into a wall to get it to stop aoe'ing is cool beans, given we continue /gu'ing our CH rotation and breath timers over the course of a few hours. But this tactic, like the stolen one previous is known now. Whether or not we do decide to act upon it or not (and be at a disadvantage loot-wise) is up to us, and enforcement thereafter by the GMs.

^ What choice would any of you make?

Consider next coming Monday we log in and do this, what do you think will happen to us? Us being "the bad guy" aside, and perhaps perma-banned if we do make the decision, what happens to your guild when you're then in this situation?

I'm very interested in opinions outside of Holo/Nihi.

Mine? Leash the dragons until this push into a wall shit is fixed. Problem solved.

Bruuce, you're pretty cool in my book but look at the chat from that raid, it's clear every1 knew it was a complete farce, look at Hughman's AE shouts and then "trololol" or the fact that not one line of text was said from the inc to the death other than Hughmans joking. Don't tell me it was said in vent, because 1) I was there, but 2) we both know that little is really done via vent in Nihilum in terms of co-ordination.

i think its futile to talk about or comment on whatever happened before the bug went public. this is how everquest exploits work. someone takes advantage of buggy code and gets something they maybe they shouldnt or couldnt have at the time. bug eventually goes public knowledge and its fixed or youre punished for doing it. i wasnt there with lovely and the handful of other people originally and i wasnt there the one after that when you were. every dragon raid after that i did attend and by that time the bugs were all public and common knowledge and we never used them. infact when vox bugged the multiple times we were trying various pull spots, the call was made to camp or zone, rather than take advantage of that. so unlike your guild, we chose not to exploit when we could have after the exploit was brought to light to the devs/gms. this is the reason you guys received suspensions and why we didnt. not hard to understand.

its funny how butthurt some people all. it went from 'lol who cares about pixels that wont help you pvp lol' to 'amg this loot must be destroyed for the integrity of the server' P QUICK

Vox AoEs, heals and fears just like she is supposed to, thats the reason the fight lasts so long and why people die during the cause of it.
We have the organization to deal with it though. And we do not mind a GM come watch over our shoulders to see if its done legit, in fact we welcome it. When Vox accidently agroed on us and got stuck in the wall it took several attempts and quite a few deaths to drag her out of there and reset properly so we could do a real attempt, then a GM would ve come in handy.

Also due to the intense trolling on these boards im sure an extra watchful eye is being kept on any dragon kill, and thats just fine. I can tell you dont believe me on this, maybe you re right, tbh its not easy to see if there is a hidden gm in zone... but I am sure there is more often than you think on big fights, and thats not gonna get less when the shit gets more contested. Doubt its for fun that Rogean just made a call for more guides too apply.

Noone in Nihilum wants to fight a 32k hp pillow, we dont have huge numbers for these fights and we want the challenge. And even though its completely immature over content which is this old, its still a rush when you do it, because it takes cooperation to succeed still. Of course the tactics arent groundbreaking, and its been done before by others... MANY others, still fun when it works though. Last Vox kill i was at, took like 45 mins or so on the succesful attempt and it was cool to see the guild working like a fucking machine for that long, and i and many others present got a real kick out of it.

The double standard story is just wrong, Amelinda or whoever that would be present, would be just as happy to swing the banhammer at me or anyone in our guild as she would on you if either of us did something to deserve it.

I hold you in some esteem for your actions ingame Nirgon, I mean, clearly you d stick an Ice comet up my ass on next given opportunity, but thats some of what this server is all about, and luckily if i am just half sober then clerics dont die too easily. Still you certainly had some class when we did trades, so all this forum-rage seem below what i would expect. Have alittle respect for your opponents and just a tiny tiny bit more faith in the GM system then you do currently.
