I tried the pvp server for a bit and remembered why eq classic is the worst pvp ever. I was level 2, and some twink kept killing me over and over. what's the purpose? also, I played some pvp on Ralos Zek, and I'm not sure how it was in the beginning, but noobs could level to 6 safely, and at some point they made it safe up until 9. Also you could loot the entire corpse, but now it's only coin. It the server is not going to be classic, then why not try to make it really good? The rules should be changed to get rid of the assholes that just hassle noobs for no reason if you want new people to play and stick with it. Else just watch the server population fizzle, or stick with the same peeps.

EQ's PvP dynamic of controlling zones/spawns is fairly unique, which is what makes it great. If it's too hardcore for you then go play WoW or any number of WoW clones where you fight over nothing and there's 0 risk.

dont quote facts about a game you obviously dont have a fucking clue about. EQpvp isnt even in the same building as DF.

EQpvp isnt the worst, but it was added after with no real balance, and anybody who played the first few days would tell you that.


Edit~ the only reason Aventurine is able to continuely shit all over their player base with lies and half-truths is the fact Darkfalls full loot pvpmmo non-instance world is hands down the best pvpmmo game so far.

/and I hate aventurine with a burning passion that keeps me warm at night.

Ummm, EQ's pvp was kickass and still is on this server. It's the risk of losing something if somebody kills you; the joy of knowing what you did to the other person if you kill them. Only other game I've played that even had anything close to that was Darkfall, and in that game you were forced to either join a guild and get on vent, or tradeskill for ridiculous amounts of time. Screw that, EQ rocks. You can solo and still be kind of badass without ridiculous tradeskills.

Oh, and they removed that whole loot the entire corpse thing REALLY early on with Rallos Zek...someone who killed you could always loot one item so long as it was not NO DROP, but very early on if you did /consent to someone, they could loot your gear, presumably so they could give it to you without you having to grab it yourself. That got taken out REAL quick.
