Basically, it details how to start a non-violent revolution. The main thing to gain from it is the list of 198 specific non-violent revolutionary actions. This is deceptively simple, and you really should watch the associated documentary "How To Start A Revolution" on Current TV to see how effective it has been and can be. In the documentary, the "leaders" from several revolutions (Otpor, Orange, Egypt, etc.) give partial credit to Gene Sharp for liberating their countries, even though he never had anything to do with those revolutions. The ideas are the powerful thing. Read it.

The tyranny of the majority is no more just than the tyranny of one. Neither a dictatorship nor a democracy is desirable in my view. Individuals must interact socially on a voluntary basis, and to me the only solution seems to be complete emancipation from societal constraints that force involuntary interaction. I don't want to separate myself from society really in that way, I just want to interact with people on a voluntary basis. For that reason self sufficiency is my end game. Obviously that isn't completely realistic if you still want the every day comforts of life. Plus, I'm way to social to do one of those completely off the grid type things. I think I've found a pretty happy compromise already. Just need to be a wage slave for a few more years.
