Group. This is not a solo-centric game. There are a few exceptions, but they do not apply to a level 10 druid.
This, otherwise prepare to sit on your ass for a long time, well you will still do that in a group but at least the xp/loot is consistent and there's someone to chat with. If you insist on soloing, nothing wrong with that, med+hide and go watch some youtube or read a book between kills.

Like I said, awesome game and I was really getting into it. In fact I was waking up at 5AM so I could play an hour before work. Then trying to play every hour I could spare in the evening. Thought I'd better quit before I was addicted.

The game was turning into me casting root and nuking a blue mob to death unless the root broke then trying to reroot if I was lucky. I then had to sit for a few minutes and watch my blue bar fill up again so I could do it all again. I was thinking to myself. I'd gladly give someone a dollar for a clarity so I wouldn't have to sit here.
Cast shield of thistles and thistlecoat on yourself and smack them. They'll die beating on you. Nuke if your health goes down too fast. Then when the battle is over, cast treeform and just sit there as you regen HP and Mana. EZ mode.

Wife doesn't have time for EQ she's got a farm to tend to.
Lol this guy sits at home playing EQ while his wife does...farm work!? No wonder she wants you to quit. Also its probably a good idea that you do quit if you got mad enough to make a ragepost about quitting. Get out there and plow a field.

I think just by changing your method the game would be much more fun.

Pull things near a zone wall or to a place where the risk is minimal. If you are going to blast then use snare, if you want to root/rot use a damage over time without an initial damage component. If it doesn't hit for ____ dmg the moment it lands it won't roll an additional root-break check. If you root/rot be sure to stay at max distance but really this won't be a game style until you get Stinging Swarm.

Honestly I didn't know that for years. It would have made my own first toon (a halfling druid) much more fun. I thought root was basically a randomly evil rabid dog.

Life does get awesome with sow though. When you can outrun almost everything dying happens less frequently.

solution: draw up a statsheet for your irl character. you will be a level 1 farmer. every 10 hours you spend farming you get +1 cultivation and +.2str

after you have done a weeks worth of farm work you get to play eq on saturday. sunday back to work, that cultivation skill wont raise itself.
