As a DA member during that time... it was exactly the same if not worse Auto. We were joined with VD in sky, fear, and hate. As well as us joining with TMO for 4-5 weeks PRIOR to the merger.

you say always has, always will, but this time round won't TMO catch up and be on an even footing with regards VP keys/best in slot gear and with higher numbers?

It depends how you gauge it.

There's currently still a pretty big gap* between TR and TMO in both gross loot and per capita loot. Because the loot TMO does get is spread thin amongst so many more people, it takes much longer to raise the gear level of an average member. Every raiding guild has churn here. If you assume the same rate of churn for each guild, TMO has to work harder to keep its gear level up if it plans to sustain the numbers it currently raids with.

*Friday when TMO was poopsocking VS, i went around and inspected a bunch of the melee. Many were missing upgrades as simple at fear/hate armor, a huge chunk are still without dragon haste or best in slot weapons, and a ton were still sub 60, something that plays a huge role in resist checks. At trak i've seen blue TMO rogues engage with 1 or 2 pieces of resist gear and die almost instantly. I say this not to toot my own horn (they're just pixels), but objectively it takes a lot of time to get from that point to where my gear is sitting.

On a long enough timeline, especially if P99 keeps getting ignored for R99, TMO will very possibly kill trakanon as many times as we have. It gets harder every week to motivate people to log on to kill the same mobs while VP is now 6 months late. I've had a VP key in my bag since the beginning of may. We laid out strategies for gearing and leveling up, raced to 60, loaded up on resist gear and keyed an entire raid force, prioritizing by class and playtime for VP. And that was 4 months ago. Now we've been waiting a few days short of a month for Nilbog and Rogean to respond to PMs after he told us he wanted to talk about opening VP. It's not like they haven't been around - they are intentionally ignoring us.

TMOs forum troll army can make up whatever tin foil hattery they want. The fact is that this is a game. People do other things with their time after they feel like they've "beaten" a game. It shouldn't be a stretch to understand that some people feel that way after getting best in slot everything, their VP key, and killing 90+% of the raid targets for the first 4+ months of Kunark.

Like loke said, when and if VP is ever released, people will show up out of the woodwork; same with epics. Knowing that your competition's strategy to kill the stuff you've been killing for 6 months is to have so many people they can sit 58 of them in VS' room on a Friday night doesn't really encourange people to log on either. Again, I have a hard time blaming them. It's not how we choose to raid, but if they're having fun and feel like they're winning, then more power to them. It's a game and having fun is the whole point. Everquest is great in that people can enjoy it for lots of different reasons.

We're a month into the 4th "reason" of decreasing legitimacy that VP isn't open. On a long enough timeline, if VP doesn't open, it's very likely TMO catches TR in gross loot received, and maybe even on a per person basis. Every week we diverge further from the classic timeline though, the ability to guess where the server will be in X weeks becomes harder to do as you move farther away from what the classic experience should be.

Point is you guys are dumb, stole my camp, convinced a GM by telling him lies, and then under a better review i got the camp switched back to my guild.

Thx for the wasted hour of my life. But i guess im still doing better off than you are. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
