My own guess is that there are some peope who will play Red exclusively or almost so, because that is what they really like to do. Then there are people who will want to try it out. The majority of these will go back to blue almost exclusively, because they would rather play EQ than deal with all the sadism, smack talk and general craziness that will occur on that server. No offense. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I think the server will have maybe 350 people on peak, by the end of the first week. By the end of the first month, more like 250. About half of these 200 would be "stolen" from blue, IMO.

Should be more than 200. VZTZ sustained about 200 while it was good, and a lot of people didn't know about that server, plus p99's code is infinitely superior. It looks like a lot of people are showing up who haven't played p99, and red99 could very well sit at 3-400ish players where maybe a couple hundred of those are people who left p99 for PvP. It'll probably have like 700 in the first week, then it'll stabilize around 3-400 while the p99 population doesn't drop by more than 1-200.

i think initially it will be High, it will then die down when some cant hack the fact that a highly dedicated group of losers will constantly just kill them for fun. expect to see some of these guys Delevel their characters so they can engage in pvp with those who dont grind to as high of a level as they do. after the initial chaos and long grinds the server will become much better towards the casual player i believe and a population of 150 low 400 high will probably develop.

Well i can see the point for a red server.. its for high play time people who want to have a challenge

Unless you have a high game time and can get high level fast tho i don't see it being worth playing..

once you hit 40 you will just be "farmed" for your plat...

guess thats another difference between red and blue.. you loot plat.

While its true that banking your platinum will make it safe... the time it takes to put a group together and go somewhere like say seb in the 40's will make it unreasonable when people start to farm you for plat.

So unless you like to solo or have high game time not going to be fun.

Trust me if i had the time to put into a ffa pvp server id jump in now... once you are top dog its easy living.

I'm not terribly interested in FFA. If it was team-based by alignment, I might have been tempted to try it out.

I agree.. FFA pvp balanced with strong faction hits would be awesome imo...

like say if you were out in the open and kill somebody it would be fair game no faction hit.. but if you kill somebody like in a town or whatever it would be like minus 1000 or more faction hit against the city or something.

Would be "realistic" too... i mean what city do you know where people don't mind murder/killing happening on the streets.

murdering somebody is a pretty strong "faction" hit ;p

you're bluer than the sky dude.

PVP server is going to be awesome i have another 2-3 people that are going to play who do not post here. also vz/tz probably has roughly 80 or so die hards who are going to play this server religiously add to that number all the b99 players who will transfer and other players who will be attracted and you've definately got the population for a decent classic server. My body is ready even though the server will be pushing forward with some mechanics that I don't agree with.
