After going for a ride in my Ford Ranger, picking up some Ranger Pale Ale, and knocking one back while watching a re-run of Walker, Texas Ranger, I decided that if I were in charge, I would offer the following:
"Roofie, in the absence of evidence whether the mace was loaned or given as a gesture of good will, we absolutely respect the time and effort you put into camping the mace of which, for whatever reason, you no longer have possession. We also absolutely respect the time and effort the guild put into camping juggs/reets, getting a BOTBDE, and letting you /random on it with the implication that such a class-defining weapon would stay in the guild for use on raids. In mutual respect for each other's time and effort, we will exchange the mace you earned to which you no longer have access for the BOTBDE that the guild earned to which we no longer have access." Probably not the least dickish decision, but that'll answer real quick about whether it's about the time and effort lost, or the $$$. :P You're all assuming Roofie loaned it based on Roofie's story, in which case, yes, Anthrax should give it back, I absolutely agree. Anthrax's version is that it was given to the guild (more specifically, Anthrax) to use because of a bunch of pixel-related drama the BOTBDE caused that I'm not going to re-hash here. News flash, P99 trolls... what gets posted on P99 isn't always de facto truth. I don't know which side is correct, neither do the VD officers (except Teeroy), nor does Coldblooded. Trust me, the easiest way to resolve this would be to claim that I was in Vent for the conversation Roofie and Anthrax had, and confirm one way or the other how it really went down. But I'm not going to do that, because I wasn't in Vent that night.

I am here to put in a good word for the character of Anthrax, regardless of who you think is right or wrong. I have seen people on both sides of this equation make very strong points as to why their side is right. I just can't sit by and watch anyone beat on Anthrax's character after I have gotten to know this guy.
This guy has busted his ass being a fantastic cleric, or fantastic tank whenever someone needs it. He is generous to fellow members and others on the server. He is there to help at the drop of the hat. He has done nothing to ever deserve one person knocking his character. This is the number 1 guy that I would pick to have at my side in a group. Roofie got fucked. He generously loaned out his weapon and when he wanted it back, it wasn't returned, even when offered the original loan item. Roofie fucked Vesica Dei. They loaded him up with gear including a BoBDE only to have him randomly disappear and never return the favor of gear , prior to or after, in terms of quality dedicated tanking for the guild. He antagonized members in a delicate situation that lost the guild multiple high value players. Strategically the Vesica Dei absolutely made a wise decision in keeping the RMoY on Anthrax, especially after they effectively destroyed a BoBDE by giving it to Roofie. But it doesn't change that Roofie loaned out a weapon that was of Six Times (Maybe more? I'm not sure what the value difference between RMoY and Blood point is) of what he receive in return, and its very legitimate to feel like he got the raw end of the and want the item back. Its not Indian giving if you originally arranged to get it back. Both sides acted poorly in certain areas. Both sides acted correctly in certain areas. But, no one should be coming down on Anthrax for this. He wasn't trying to hide it, he went to the officers and said this is whats going on. He made the decision in conjunction with them and what was best for the highest amount of people, and they came to a conclusion. Roofie's character shouldn't get beat up because he wants the weapon back. Anthrax's character shouldn't get beat up, because a trade was arranged by the officers and he was told it would be handled so he could keep it. Its a no win situation now that RMoYs or BoBDE no longer drop. Each side has taken their lumps, time to part ways, agreeing to disagree, without holding a grudge. Neither person's character or reputation should be in the garbage. | ||

Another reason in a long list for why I don't play this game anymore. Everybody here is no better than Anthrax. People here will do anything to relive the glory days of "being on top" in classic EQ. Probably because most of you never were.

Cause your comment was an astounding failure. Roofie didn't fuck them by leaving the guild, he fucked them well before. Handing back the RMoY, wouldn't leave them anymore or less fucked by him. | ||
