Emus have one job.

Don't make money. Im thinkin' it really is this simple.
Having said that, I do think employing some of the devs to make what people clearly want is clever. But as shovel (and others) has said, they appear to just be placeholdering the EQ IP to milk it with little to no input on their part until its cellular death.

i wonder if there's a counter-movement to stop killing games i can donate time or money to. otherwise, the kill more games movement starts here on this forum

Still can't stop the trend toward more active and healthy lifestyles among younger people and that spells the end of the game design, even if you could free the IP. Aerobics, Pilates, and yoga are today's "Everquest."

no, they're all mobile games instead

chinese phone games have bigger budgets and playerbases than even world of warcraft
