Is it a time vs plat drop vs respawn rate vs time to kill that makes this worth it?

I dont wanna do it, i just find it funny that what is worth it to one person is complete dogshit to someone else. Surely there is a more efficient plat farm at lvl 50 than lvl 15 guards.

Depnds on how lucrative it is. Before their respawn timers were nerfed, I regularly killed the misty thicket wall guards 50+ if no one was around. They netted you 500-600pp an hour, and weren't as heavily contested as something like seafuries. Sadly they have a 30 min respawn timer now instead of a 6 min respawn timer. You can't do that anymore.

A lot of it depends on class and play style for where in the world you can most effectively farm plat but I think the thing that always holds true is you'll get rich faster by leveling to 60 then farming plat versus farming plat and then leveling to 60.

I do agree that purposely trying to farm plat at a lower level on camps that aren't good XP is generally lower yield than farming at 60.

That being said, leveling on guards is an efficient way to level and farm plat. I leveled quickly and got thousands of plat by leveling off guards from 25-55. My Shadowknight financed a good chunk of my Shaman's leveling gear, items like JBB.

Especially if you're a caster that's going to need money for spells, some of which are research/drop only and can be quite expensive. You're going to need to combine plat and XP at multiple points.
