Maibbin here. I run this shitter guild. The policy is tier 1 items have to be won by a 60/main. The two bards present were 52 and already 60(epic) so neither fit existing policy on this item so it went open bid. Both melted down, one nuclear. Cheers and your welcome for the content.
most sane guild leader I've seen on this website, do another quake for this king.

But why didn’t he win it when the quake happened?

Because the auction was brought down when a private sale of dkp tried to occur when the policy is bidding in the public dkp channel. Leadership had to pause to decide if we were going to allow this to effect the outcome of the whitescale. Further, the dkp sale tried to circumvent the guilds policy on taxes of those public sales by selling for pennies on the dollar. The spirit of the written rules were broken in so many ways with this open bid format white dragon scale that we are thoroughly disappointed.

This is a lie.. i offered to sell my dkp to the other bard, after they said they were going to not honor the quake clause.

Moreover , policy was changed that DKP could be solt at any rate of the sellers choosing as long as the tax was paid. They are trying to cover up and deflect here.

In the absence of leadership there is policy. In the absence of policy there is common sense.

Yikes.

We spent a whole night and day with two people upset over the white scales drop, which further kept auctions from taking place, as a whole, as we strived to tell them the regulations and rules that were in place and make sure their concerns were answers and discussed.

Both people who believe they were rightfully owed the scales.
A lvl 59 bard who has his epic and tries to find loop holes in the rules from the get go and a lvl 52 vox bard who had no intentions of leveling to 60 anyway, else he would have had his scales already as our rules allowed for 60 alts to have more priority over under 60 alts.

52 Vox Bard advocated for full greed DKP and when it was changed to accommodate, while still maintaining our fairness to main toons who don't have their epics (our new rules actually screw over mains compared to previous regulations around Epics, btw) they cried foul that they shouldn't have to fight people for their 4th epic.

This put our auctions up 3 hours before a 2nd quake, which, out of fairness to everyone who was bidding on all items and people who did not SEE the auctions yet (not just on the stupid white scales) time to bid to the regular soft close end time promised.

When told the reasons why, which was publicly announce at time of quake to all the guild, who were validly UPSET they didnt have time to bid because of the prior drama over pixels. He didn't address concerns then, he addressed concerns in public the next day and spent the whole time arguing back and forth - when also saying "your reasons are valid and I am not going to argue" "Sorry if this caused any issues" - yet continues to argue and post it everywhere, including going to the GMs and the forums to discuss how upset he is.

People have the right to be upset. However, trying to circumvent rules and find loop holes, as well as trying to back door deal sell DKP for pennies, which also went against rules and regulations he so adamantly talks about.

We removed the auction until they would calm down and think about how they were acting, pending put up another day with the exact same rules and a fresh bid. This is a freaking game and when I put my time and effort into this game to help run a guild and two people have wasted my night, wasted two days of my time away from my family and other things I could have been doing for the guild. It's time to step back and think outside yourself please.

We aren't children. We are full grown adults. No wonder GM's get frustrated publicly. 3 years I have sat here and dealt with man children over pixels and the only reason I still stay is because there is a good community in Lineage who like what the rules have provided them and provided a community they can have fun and progress themselves in. We aren't perfect and you can go get whatever you want in other guilds, but I strive to make sure we are fair to everyone and people actually like to come on this game and enjoy themselves, even if they leave to another guild.

At the end of the day pixels don't transfer to real life. Your attitude, the way you communicate to people, the way you act is what people remember about you. Not what items you have. No offense to the people who take their pixels seriously, but I hated raiding on blue because of the toxicity and I don't care about pixels. I'll give my god damn KT shoes off my feet to someone who is deserving of them or sell them to fund someone else's epic. It's who I am and who I will always be.

I can allow people dragging my name through the mud as a leader, but I wont allow someone to spit false facts around and muddy the name of the entire guild of people who exist in Lineage and are good people. At the end of the day I continue to put forth what is beneficial for the entire guild as a whole, while trying out peoples ideas. It's not just about one person, there's a whole guild we take into consideration whenever we make changes or divert from regulations for situations.

There you have the guild leader admitting. The auction was live. A bid was placed and did not honor the quake clause. That simple.
