Default Ogre SK starting up and gear advice

Hello, i'm a relatively new player that just started an Ogre Shadow Knight and i was wondering what's the best leveling route, since I've never played an Evil race and I'm kinda scared of getting merked by some random guard on the way.

I was also able to scrounge up 150 platinum from my first character, a Barb Shaman that I stopped playing that didn't get very far, what's the best i can get with this budget to hopefully make things better early?

What server are you on? There are many kind people on blue or green that would happily drop some plat/gear on ya!

I would recommend getting someone in the area to give you a Sow or a port and relocate to freeport/east commonlands (can have someone bind you in west freeport close to the EC zone and away from the gaurds). This was my starting move on my Ogre.

People will generally give out some free gear in EC and you can look for opportunities to buy some cheap items while killing for exp in EC. Also as you level you can leverage the deathfist belts from the orcs to not only add additional exp but to improve your faction so you are not kos in freeport (will need someone to cast group wolf form on you initially to do turn ins). This will come in handy throughout your characters life span as east commonlands is the hub for all buying and selling and the freeport town/bank are the nearest to interact with so imo its the best city to get factioned.

You can actually make it all the way up to about lvl 20 in EC although you likely will want to venture out sooner. From there most people level in only a handful of zones as they progress to 60

Oasis/Unrest/Mistmoor
City of Mist/Karnors Castle/Sebilis

Yeah EC for buffs, ask some druids in the tunnel they're usually happy to help. If someone can give you a weapon that'll really get things started nicely [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

If you need a guild, Self Found is looking for more, just use the gear you loot/earn
Do /who all Self and ask for an invite, we group all the time and help with getting gear for each other

If you can bum a venomous Axe of the Velium Brood off someone that would be an excellent starter weapon.
