The Blackhawk helicopter pilot was a woman trainee with 500 hours flying the helicopter

Her trainer was a male flight instructor with 1000 hours flying helicopters, from what I’ve heard

The fault should, and likely will, land mostly on the Blackhawk helicopter flight instructor. Trainees are supposed to make mistakes. Instructors are supposed to keep those mistakes from killing people
I think it was an accident... but if it turns out the tower was understaffed, then that's the reason this happened.

TBH I would prefer these flight controllers can assure me that they can prevent two planes from colliding at an airport or I wont ever fuckn fly again.

I think it could be something on the military's side, because we've had 4 blackhawk crashes in the last 4 years, and 2 in the last 20 before that.

Yeah my feeling is it's definitely on the helicopter crew mostly. Though planes make last minute ditches all the time if the wind is a little too strong, 10 feet above the ground right before touchdown, so they aren't completely off the hook either.

The plane was just doing what every other plane ever has done landing there, except avoiding the giant helicopter.

I think I get why these investigations take so long now.

There are generally way more helicopter crashes than plane crashes because they are fundamentally different aircraft- you trade off safety for maneuverability in a helicopter, which is why they generally have dedicated ATC for each, and in this case it sounds like one guy was splitting duty in that regard.

Sure but there have been 4 blackhawk crashes since 2020, and 2 in the 20 years before that.

Either they all hit the warranty or we're doing something different IMO.

Well that just shows that our military had standards others didnt, and the current one doesn't either.

What changed?

What's changed in the last idk, 12 years, 8, 4?

What major military changes have we made in that timeframe that we can say had no effect whatsoever, because it turns out it's DEI?

Near collision at DCA the day before?

Quote:
The airliner brickyard 4514 receives notification from their instruments about an impending collision. The pilot says they had an "RA" and are going to "go around" (abort landing, go around and try again).

"If the system diagnoses a risk of impending collision, it issues a resolution advisory (RA) to the flight crew, which directs the pilots how best to regulate or adjust their vertical rate so as to avoid a collision."

The Orange man voters without investigation lap up DEI explanation like the cult they are in.....

but on to the irony...

The Orange man started the "D.E.I." Program he is attacking.

The Orange man called out the FAA at prioritizing hiring intellectually disabled individuals during his initial blame conference.

Well, in 2019, it was the Orange Man's administration actually started the program; the one that he attacked at the press conference.

The FAA provides aviation careers to people with disabilities. -From Thursday April 11, 2019, the FAA announced a pilot program to help prepare people with disabilities for careers in TRAFFIC OPERATIONS.

"A key focus for the FAA's Office of Civil Rights is to identify specific operations for people with targeted disabilities, empower them and facilitate their entry into a MORE DIVERSE and INCLUSIVE WORKSPACE WORKFORCE."

This... THIS is from the Orange man's administration in 2019.

In fact, this is the same policy he tried to attack on stage. There is even a clause left over in the documentation including hiring on more individuals of minority!

Federal workers placed on leave by Trump's DEI order are angry and fearful of what lies ahead.

BUT THE... DEI employees were THERE due to HIS actions in his last term!!!!

Worse, there was only one individual doing the job of two.
Monitoring both planes and helicopters.

AND Now... the orange man is going after the military soldiers too from his last Truth social post.

Shame... Shame on him and shame on his voters.
