The concept of putting a bell on a cat to curtail it's hunting prowess actually made it a better more silent hunter.
we should make everyone in the army wear bells!

Cats are more agile than humans. Sorry it only works for ambush hunter type scenarios.

It would work of you let feline furies in the armed forces though...

Good try though. Sportsball teams ftw!

YouTube showed me a short of a large male African lion bearing down on 3 hyenas that were eating a dead water Buffalo

The lion immediately got one of the hyenas in its jaws, specifically on its neck. “Oh you fucked” I thought. And so did the other hyenas apparently, because they NOPE’d out of there. Didn’t even try to save their friend

Even though the camera was probably at least 25 feet away (sitting safely in a vehicle), you could hear the sound of the hyenas neck bones breaking

Just another reminder how completely fucked we would be if a lion ever decided to make us prey. I guess the hope would be that it would get us on the neck too, because we’d die even faster than that hyena did….

What's a jackal?

Hyena could get most humans too. Big bite strength.

Sure. Just dont discuss the real part of the question.

Also multiple bells were tried. Many of the fuckers just got so good they were virtual tv ninja like in silent movement.

They literally have all day to hone the skills.

How about that sports ball team hey? Anything but the subject...

whats the difference between 1 intel chip or 1000 SMIC chips when you can build 2 coal fired power plants per week, no regulation on pollution, no federal judges to tell you to stop, no labor unions, no hippies regulating you out of business, and a government that decides on a whim what their currency is worth?

it was never to hinder their progress, it was to prevent them from studying our most advanced tech

yeah they'll figure out other ways to do things, but they won't know how we did what we are doing

anything the CCP says should be taken with a massive grain of salt, this is a group of people who believe 1984 is an instruction manual on how to implement das kapital

deepseek can say they did something for 1/1000th of the cost, because they don't have to report what the CCP paid for. We can't forget that every single chinese company is a de facto arm of the CCP

NVIDIA's dominance in AI is largely due to CUDA, a dedicated architecture and software ecosystem that simplifies using their GPUs for AI workloads. While technically possible to use AMD (ROCm) or Intel (oneAPI) GPUs, the AI software world is built around CUDA. This makes it much harder for developers to use competitor hardware, as popular frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch are optimized for CUDA. It's not that "nobody knows how" to use AMD's platform, but rather that the ecosystem is less mature and requires more effort. AMD faces a real challenge in gaining traction, as fewer users lead to less software support, creating a difficult cycle. While AMD and Intel are working to improve their offerings, it's a tough competitive landscape, not a "hilarious" situation. The core issue is the software and developer familiarity, not just the hardware itself.
stream of conscious into'd the LLM and let it fact check what i remembered, so in theory you can buy time by just controlling the supply of Nvida chips, then it doesn't matter what you're doing with power plants or regulations, we're focusing on powering the data centers with natural gas because we have so much of it. and i doubt DARPA or whatever Black project is running behind the scenes gives a shit about the rest of the normal imbalances and advantages China would have. they didn't care about data rights after 9/11 with PRISM and all the other programs. i'd bet money we're doing more insane illegal shit as a country building this than China is right now
