They aren't going to use nukes unless their existential survival is threatened, it's written into their constitution, there is absolutely no mystery about when/if/why/how the russians would launch nukes. They are very clear about it.

technically yes it could, however for the plethora of sanctions that have been imposed upon russia it's basically slowed them down maybe 15% of their economic strength. If they can't trade on the SMART system, they'll literally fly gold bullion to where they wanna buy stuff, if they can't obtain the dollar, they'll trade on the yuan. If visa won't process their payments, they can do that themselves.

you aren't gonna hear about this on western news but these sanctions have shown the "world beyond the west" that the economic power that we told them we have is about as empty as the fiat currencies that we all use.

Money talks, and technically speaking we don't have any of it. not a penny.

nah man it's ok the soviets are gonna lose by attrition, run home with their tails between their legs which will cause major shifts in russian government theory

this is a conflict that literally had to happen, there was no possible way to avoid it and while its a tragedy for the people who live there, ukraine is a relatively good place to decide it

it would be a hell of alot worse to have this fight in western europe due to the population density and even worse than that to have the fight on russian soil given their constitutional requirement to fire nukes if the homeland is threatened
