I don't understand the point of airsoft, when we already have paintball which leaves a paint blotch to indicate you got hit

I went paintballing with some friends in a paintball arena recently, that shit hurts. One dude got hit in the bare neck, had a huge welt, entire side of his neck was purple. He was pissed too because the guy who shot him didn’t realize he was out and standing up to leave

But yea I got pelted a good amount, I’d always feel it unless on maybe the plastic of eyeguard but even that I’d feel the impact

lol paintball is always a good time, but its still .68 caliber flying projectiles at 300 ft/s. back in the day a friend of my father's was hospitalized after a paintball game in winter, the paint froze and he too got hit in the bare neck, but it took a chunk of flesh out with it.

Last time I went paintballing I wore a puffy vest underneath camos and a lot of the paintballs bounced off me. I had referees confirm I wasn't hit and could remain in the game even though I know I got hit.
