Back when I was five, I learned the word “s******" somewhere and asked my mother what it meant. They told me it meant to laugh, but also explained that it sounded like a very bad word. I thought it was a funny word, so I repeatedly used it on the bus around these bigger kids (who were black) to try and make them laugh. Unfortunately, the other kids heard something different.
