The 1st episode is a bit rough and all of it's criticism is valid especially the not racist black elf.

However. It's also still pretty deep and Tolkien shines through strongly from Valinor. The "doves" where a nice touch.

The plot to this show I am seeing is very closley based on the establishment.

You have one liberal who is like, "the cold war isnt over, and i will do anything I can to make sure we start a 3rd world war"

and then you have a conservative who is like, "you're insane, stop being a child"

but in the meantime the conservative is building some giant furnace for sauron, just like the conservative in real life is doing for trump.
