OK but before I go..

I think 5:11 is the only actual case where it seems as though the bible may even teach how abortion works back then.

but then again the actual context of that story is that the woman is given a drink, and if she cheated the drink will kill the baby, and if she didnt cheat it wont kill the baby.

So it's not exactly an abortion, but instead maybe drinking the concoction just makes the woman sick as fuck, and it's like a 50/50 chance if it will kill the baby... and the priests back then thought that was gods divine decision.

The argument people try to make is that the book is teaching like, "doctor" level medicine to the rabies, about a mixture that can cause the body to kill the baby, but the bible offers no other evidence that it passes on medicinal information this way.

It's pretty common when people apply modern conventions to 6 thousand year old writing. The truth is the rabbis probably had no friggen clue what was going on, just that if you drank that shit, it was like a 50/50 chance the baby would come out, and that was enough for them to say god killed if she cheated, or kept it if she didn't.

If it was on religifact (polifact but for religious shit, which should exist imo) then it would say mostly false.

There is only one or two recent versions (NIV) that uses the word "miscarry" and it's a bad translation

It has nothing to do with a pregnancy or abortion in any way

I still don't understand why you can't just oppose abortion and not be religious? I mean I totally get the religious argument against it, but isn't it unnecessary? Like, I don't need a religious reason not to kick a puppy in the head, I just don't cause I'd feel really horrible. I'd also feel horrible killing a baby and throwing it in the garbage.

I don't know, why don't you tell me why one hundred percent of the anti-abortion activists in this country are frothing Christian nutjobs?

Because it’s not true

This might blow your mind too, but it’s a pretty even 50/50 split of men and women that are pro-life. Polls seem to vary with about +/-5% variance, but nearly half of all pro-life voters are women

Can you imagine that some are non-Christian suburban moms who want the gov’t to control their own bodies? Sorry to destroy your worldview btw

Maybe like one or two percent, but Trump's support base is overwhelmingly made up of white, Christian morons like yourself.

Would be a better argument to say the reason these pro-life women are able to intelligently plan their own procreation without using lethal means is because they have either money or a support system

If they have money, and it’s not their husband’s, then that wouldn’t make them morons. IQ is one of the biggest indicators of future financial success or failure. If it is their husband’s, then they at least had the skills to find a successful man and secure that relationship, which can be impressive considering the more successful the provider, sometimes the more opportunity they have to leave their partner or cheat due to having more options

But again, both of these are not completely true blanket statements. I was surprised to discover that the gal I had a short fling with from tinder recently had a 3yr old son. The dad left as soon as she said she was pregnant but she didn’t want to get an abortion. This was a Dominican chick, fairly poor, uneducated, retail worker who never mentioned religion once. So she didn’t fit the mold of all pro-life women being spoiled white Christians
