I'd hate to be in it when it came time to get everyone their epics.

There already is/was <The Mages Guild> (wording?) on this server.
Jify ran this shit before you guys swapped him up.

No out swapped me up Goobles. I disbanded the guild because I could not commit the time required to run it and keep it up. The population size was too small, and my officers had disappeared.

IB took me in as a poor, lonely, helpless magician. It's a great guild, shame they aren't all mages. ;D

That's a little ballsy Jify. I remember Gnomercy in talks with you for weeks before that happened. We all asked daily about when "Jify and the mage guild" was going to disband and join IB. We actively courted you. Don't pretend.

Not saying there's anything wrong with that, but srsly..

You're right Hasbinbad. I mean, technically I was alone and lonely. Maybe not entirely helpless. The decision to disband the guild came from my lack of play time, and the logical decision afterwards was to join IB. (with much love from Gnomercy, Oly, Wonton, etc.)

I appreciated the love from IB prior to my joining. My original decision was to join IB if I could bring all the mages with me. However, at that point it was only me and 1-2 others. It just didn't make sense to hold out and make that request.

It's probably one of my worse decisions, waiting to join the guild. I mean, I really only missed Vox, PoSky & PoHate (3 raids total?) prior to joining the guild, but it still feels like I missed more than that.

Granted, I miss a lot more now a days. Like right now, posting a quick message before going back to hanging out with my parents. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Anyway. Mage guild lives on in spirit. We can still totally hit up some smaller targets if the targets are available and the mages are up for it. ;D

Mage groups are still happening on a regular basis. Sadly, my play time is not what it used to, and my social circle mostly limited to IB. (not sadly towards IB, awesome bunch of folks to play with)

We've managed to "mage pet" a few high end targets. If anyone is still interested in this sort of thing shoot me a tell. Maybe I can keep a list going. We could target a few places like PoHate, PoSky, Kunark & whatnot for fun and excitement.

My apologies for the earlier mage guild. My play time decreased to an almost unplayable level for a period of time, and most of my officers either left to IB or discontinued playing. 2 members ended up being banned for hacking (I had no idea until weeks later). As far as I can remember (my memory is poor), I am the only member of the mage guild continuing to play at this time.

The guild lives on, in spirit anyways. It's still a very feasible concept & would make a great way to introduce mages to the "raiding world". I don't see myself leaving IB to lead or take this up full time. But the possibility always exists for taking down minor raid & epic targets. (as a part-time, non-guild type event)

Hope this sheds some light on what has become of the guild.

Cheers!

Maybe we dont necessarily need a guild specifically just for mages. We could just have somewhat of an "alliance" of mages across the server that get together to take down mobs just to do it mage style. Considering we may not have the population to have a mage only guild or people even wanting limit themselves to such. I think this might be an easier approach.

This is what I'm getting at. If you see me or Doug online, shoot me a tell. I'll get a list going. In the event we'd like to plan something, or do something, I'll send tells to everyone on that list.

Once channels are working, we will operate a MageGuild channel for all Mage related stuff.

Oh btw.. I've jumped ship and I'm playing a bard as a main now. But I still enjoy Mage groups! 8D
