Rick Steves is a bad ass guy man, you kidding me ? He flies around Europe, smokes weed and hangs out with female tour guides

About twenty of those country visits were on my company's dime

The rest was a backpacking trip my brother and I took in like 2004, I took out a loan and we spent a month running around Europe on foot and on trains

Totally worth it, probably got ripped off on the interest rate on the loan, but I didn't have credit cards in 2004

He started out a tour guide and hosting a show on Oregon public television. I don’t think he was very wealthy for most of his life

Also, you can go to some places in Europe relatively cheaply. As soon as I retire I’m doing the Santiago de compostela (sp?) route staying only in hostels. Takes like 40 days, I can’t wait
