That's kinda the premise of the book Roadside Picnic which inspired Stalker, Metro 2033, and other "zone" fiction. Discarded alien trash is awesome.

Hmm maybe procreation is the root cause of crime.

Just needing to spread seeds in a forest of only loosely connected life forms results in crime.

I saw someone kill a bear in a movie and the bear looked sad and I was sad, but that bear was gonna do the same thing to the person that killed the bear.
