I was the only white dude (who looks Lebonese) in that neighborhood. I was perfectly at ease there. As soon as I cooked them my pulled pork, they respected me and welcomed me with open arms.

However, getting so used to black folks, if I saw another white person enter the neighborhood I would immediately not trust the white person.

It was a very primal tribal thing.

Black people are way more communal than white people. I miss that neighborhood.
